Following Robb Stark's breach of his marital pledge to one of Walder Frey's daughters, Frey orchestrates a brutal massacre during a wedding feast, wiping out Robb, his mother, his wife, and all loyal bannermen. In the aftermath, Tywin, now the Hand of the King, appoints Roose Bolton as the new Warden of the North.
