Winter Is Coming
In Winterfell, Ned Stark assumes the role of the Hand of the King for Robert Baratheon, relocating his daughters, Sansa and Arya, to King’s Landing. Tragedy befalls the Stark family when Bran, Ned's son, witnesses an illicit encounter between Robert's wife, Cersei Lannister, and her brother, Jaime, resulting in Bran's paralysis. Ned uncovers the unsettling truth that the three children claimed by Robert and Cersei are, in fact, the offspring of Jaime and Cersei, casting doubt on their rightful claim to the throne. Following Robert's demise, Cersei's eldest, Joffrey, ascends to the throne. Ned's principled refusal to acknowledge Joffrey as the legitimate ruler leads to his tragic execution.
